Jewelry Making

​In this class you will learn proper use of the jewelers saw, as well as forming, filing, sanding, and polishing techniques. Safety will be stressed. We will be using re-purposed flatware, wire, stones and beads. Design and function will also be covered. At the end of the class one or more wearable pieces will be completed.

SUSAN BARNES: INSTRUCTOR PROFILE

​In the 1970’s through the 1980’s I made handwrought and cast jewelry in sterling silver and 14k gold that was sold in various locations throughout South Jersey. I also designed and created numerous commissioned pieces. Between then and now I have been an award winning painter and printmaker and have recently rediscovered my love of jewelry making.
