Students will use scraps of various colored fabrics to create unique designs. This is a good beginners class for those who wanted to try their hand at fabric "painting". You will trace or draw a design that interest you onto a precut closs of muslin. You will enjoy filling in the lines with your own colors. During this class you will learn cutting technique, discuss color combinations, possible finishing techniques, and framing options. Each week, you will have the option to start a new project design or continue the one you started. A supply list will be provided before class. Note: No sewing machine required.
JOY CARTER: INSTRUCTOR PROFILE
I am an experimenter of all things art! Painting, mixed media and quilting are my favorites so it was natural for me to combine those arts into what I call “Collage Fabric Painting.” I recently retired from a career of teaching all ages various subjects. I am now excited for the opportunity to use both my skills as a teacher and an artist to introduce others to this fun way of experimenting.
