​Explore the versatile and yet challenging medium of watercolor in a stress free environment. Instruction will be given to help you improve your skills no matter your level.  All levels are welcome.

     Supply List
  •  Come with a full color picture of what you would like to paint
  • Watercolor paper pad - I use Arches paper in a block 140lb.
  • Watercolor brushes - they have short handles - 1" flat wash brush, round brushes size 2,4.6
  • A small round brush for details
  • Plastic mixing tray
  • Water basin or tub
  • Watercolor paint either a pan style of assorted colors or individual tubes
  •     Cadmium yellow
  •     Cadmium orange
  •     Cadmium red
  •     Viridian green
  •     Hooker's green
  •     Ultramarine blue
  •     Cerulean blue
  •     Winsor Violet (Dioxazine)
  •     Burnt sienna
  • Pencil / eraser
  • Pad of tracing paper
  • Hair dryer
  • Roll of Viva paper towels
  • A bar of soap to wash out your brushes​​

​This is for oil and acrylic painters of all levels.  What secrets do the old masters hold? In fact they have encountered every painter problem you have and resolved it brilliantly. We just have to analyze their paintings.  We will spend 15 minutes of every class considering paintings from different masters.  You are free to make a copy of an old master painting or choose your own.

Supply List
If you want to choose your own painting come with reference material such as a photo or magazine picture.
  • A Primed Canvas or Primed Panel (Most of the Old Masters Painted on Panels)
  • Oil Brushes (Long Handles) Sizes 2,4, and 6
  • A Small Detail Brush
  • Paper Palette
  • Odorless Turpenoid and an empty jar with lid
  • Oil Paint such as Winsor & Newton
  • Titanium White
  • Cadmium Yellow
  • Cadmium Orange
  • Cadmium Red
  • Viridian Green
  • Sap Green
  • Ultramarine Blue
  • Cerulean Blue
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Dioxazine Violet
  • Ivory Black
  • Stand Linseed Oil
  • Pencil and Eraser
  • Surgical Gloves
  • Roll of Viva Paper Towels
  • A Bar of Soap to wash out brushes

* For acrylic painters the above list except turpenoid and linseed oil and use a water basin, acrylic medium and acrylic brushes instead.

​Ann Kelly: INSTRUCTOR PROFILE
​I have been interested in art, especially painting since I was 7 years old. In high school I majored in art then went on to graduate from Moore College of Art and Design with an illustration degree.

After working as a graphic designer at Winchell Printing Company then at Provident Bank I decided to focus on pursuing my teaching degree and taught art for ten years at the high school level.
​
 I have graduated with my MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2022.
