Plein Air
SUNDAYS 2pm - 4pm
***New classes to start in April 2023 All Levels Welcome! Plein Air is a booming movement. We are going outside to paint on small panels in oils or acrylic, your choice. Using a limited palette at first then expanding to more colors. We will analyze which direction the light is coming from and how far are objects in the distance in your painting. We will look at plein air magazines to decipher current trends in plein air painting. Supply List

(oils & acrylics) with a touch of art history WEDNESDAYS 2pm - 4pm
3 Weeks October 12th - 19th Member Cost: $50 Non-Member Cost : $65 Fall 2 November/December Session 4 Weeks November 2nd - November 23rd AND November 30th - December 21st Member Cost: $100 Non-Member Cost: $115 Winter 2023 Session 4 Weeks January 11th - February 1st Member Cost: $100 Non-Member Cost: $115 AND 3 Weeks February 8th - February 22nd Member Cost: $75 Non-Member Cost: $85 This is for oil and acrylic painters of all levels. What secrets do the old masters hold? In fact they have encountered every painter problem you have and resolved it brilliantly. We just have to analyze their paintings. We will spend 15 minutes of every class considering paintings from different masters. You are free to make a copy of an old master painting or choose your own. Supply List If you want to choose your own painting come with reference material such as a photo or magazine picture.
* For acrylic painters the above list except turpenoid and linseed oil and use a water basin, acrylic medium and acrylic brushes instead. |
